Hot Tar & Chip Seal

Hot tar & chip seal is durable, efficient and versatile. It can be put down over any solid-based foundation, existing blacktop or concrete surface. It requires very little maintenance, with no yearly coatings needed. It costs about half what asphalt runs, and a 3rd of concrete. The value is clear.

Seal Coating

Asphalt pavement requires a seal coat for maintenance. We provide hot pour rubber crack filling and sealcoating services. We only use commercial-grade coal tar sealer. We can hand or machine-apply the material, depending on what the surface requires or the customer prefers.

Hot Tar & Chip Is a Great Alternative

Prior to 1930, virtually every road and highway in the country was made with tar & chip. Today, many country and rural roads are still tar & chip. It's more cost effective to install and it requires almost no maintenance. Tar & chip can be used anywhere that blacktop or concrete can.

Enhanced Traction: rain and ice can make navigating a vehicle difficult especially on a hill or slight grade, chip rock embedded into asphalt tar makes a rougher surface which gives traction unlike concrete and blacktop that both have a smooth surface.

Chip & seal can also be applied over old Blacktop or Concrete and serves as a great alternative making your resurfacing project cost less.

Can chip & seal be snow plowed? Yes, just keep the blade raised up about an inch.

Repairs, Overlays and Resurfacing

Most driveways and parking lot surfaces being overlaid with either Asphalt or Chip Seal need some repairs before the new layer of asphalt is applied. Not all problem areas need the same repairs, older surfaces usually need more attention. Repairs are not always for cosmetics, potholes pose a trip & fall hazard which can result in an injury, potholes are ugly, but not as ugly as a lawsuit. Depending on the condition and severity a total rip out down to base with the replacement of base rock may be required. Be sure to address a problem sooner than later because letting a simple crack go unattended can lead to a costly repair.  We will assess the condition your driveway or parking lot and recommend the best solution to meet your needs and budget.

For parking lots striping defines traffic flow and maximizes occupancy.
